The Religious Education Program provided more than 1,380 students in Grades 1-8 with education in the Catholic faith through the tireless efforts of 47 catechists and 15 additional volunteers. These faith-filled men and women volunteers contributed more than 4,000 hours of service.
During the summer of 2014, more than 230 students in Grades 1-7 participated in an intensive Summer Religious Education option taught by 13 certified St. Gregory the Great Academy teachers. The students will complete an online component throughout the school year.
Through the Religious Education Program, students also attended Adoration and Benediction, received the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Advent and Lent, contributed to a food drive for the Mt. Carmel Guild and participated in a Christmas outreach to Arcadia Nursing Home.
In the Spring of 2014 we had 287 children (Academy and CCD) receive First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, and in the Fall 250 children (Academy and CCD) will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation.
