About iCan Bike
iCan Bike enables individuals with disabilities to learn to ride a conventional two-wheel bicycle, using adapted bicycles, a specialized instructional program, and trained staff. This milestone builds confidence and is a very gratifying, rewarding experience for everyone involved. iCan Bike is a program developed by iCanShine, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization who provides quality recreational activities for individuals with disabilities. St. Gregory the Great is working in collaboration with iCan Shine, and Ability Tree to bring this opportunity to our community.

TESTIMONIAL
“My son Zachary who is non-verbal autistic participated in an iCan Bike camp last year. He was 8 years old and had practiced with a bike that had training wheels prior to the camp. I noticed that he was having a hard time with learning mainly because he did not have the confidence. After speaking with Zachary’s ABA therapist about my concerns with him learning how to ride a bike the therapist told me about the camp. He said that one of his other students participated in the iCan Bike camp and it turned out to be a success. After looking at the website I registered Zachary for the camp, hopeful that this would work for him.
When the week of camp came around I was so excited. I couldn’t wait to see him up and riding independently. My fingers were crossed. They started him off on the main bike with the devise on the back. Faster than I would have ever imagined he took off and quickly gained the confidence that was needed. By Wednesday they announced “We have a bike rider!” I was in tears because it was something that I thought I might have never seen. They moved him to the more advanced bike with a handle on the back for balance. Once he mastered that they took him outside to the parking lot where he road his own bike independently. He was riding so fast that the volunteers couldn’t keep up with his super speed!”
