Stars for Jesus is the Social Concerns Ministry’s annual holiday gift collection for various Mercer County organizations serving those less fortunate in our community. Social Concerns is excited to offer you the opportunity to participate in our virtual donation project for 2020. This approach is in lieu of our traditional Stars for Jesus collection, as in-person collections at the Parish are prohibited due to the pandemic.

Mt. Carmel Guild: The Guild provides two core programs: Home Health Nursing (aiding older individuals) and a Community Support Program to provide emergency food and utility assistance to prevent homelessness. Mount Carmel Guild of Trenton provides hope and preserves dignity as it feeds the hungry and provides home health nursing services to the elderly. Catholic Charities Diocese of Trenton: This nonprofit agency offers services for mental health, poverty-reduction, addiction focused treatment, immigration & human trafficking. Services are provided to all those in need, regardless of religious background. Vulnerable residents are also assisted with basic needs of food, clothing, temporary housing as well as with vocational training and financial literacy in order to achieve self-sufficiency. Children’s Home Society of NJ: This nonprofit organization helps at-risk children and their families achieve their potential. ChoiceOne Pregnancy Resource Center: This nonprofit organization assists mothers who choose to give the gift of life rather than abort their babies by offering medical, counseling and educational services. Catholic Youth Organization: Dedicated to providing quality educational and recreational services to enrich the lives of children in the Bromley neighborhood of Hamilton. Better Community Housing of Trenton: (formerly Martin House): Assisting and empowering families in Trenton through home ownership and education. Rainbow House: A LifeTies program which provides a loving group home for medically fragile young women with chronic health conditions as well as providing numerous services for young women and their babies. Works of Mercy Ministry (Emergency Fund): Providing one-time emergency monetary assistance for individuals that live within the boundaries of St. Gregory the Great or to parishioners living outside the boundaries who qualify to receive assistance for food, utilities, shelter, etc. To donate, kindly place your donation in the collection basket or mail it to the rectory and add "Works of Mercy" in the memo line. Interfaith Caregivers of Mercer County: Enabling the homebound elderly and disabled adults to live with dignity in their own homes for as long as possible. All programs are provided free of charge to their low income and underserved neighbors. Some of the services include, shopping and errands, transportation to appointments, indoor/outdoor chores and minor household repairs.
